Wilma Marie Walker (Wendi), our beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt, entered eternal rest on May 15, 2026, at the age of 58. Born October 11, 1967 in San Antonio, Texas to John W and Doris K. Walker. She was the youngest of two children.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Down’s Memorial UMC. The family later transferred to E.T. Dixon UMC under the leadership of Rev. James Amerson. She later attended Jacob’s Chapel UMC under the leadership of Rev. Robert Glenn until her health declined.
Wendi attended Tynan Elementary, Our Lady of Victory, and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1986 from Highlands High School.
She pursued many careers in customer service throughout her life, including AT&T, formerly known as Southwestern Bell, and USAA. Wendi also devoted 11 loving years as her mother’s caregiver until her mother’s passing. Wendi’s final act of kindness was caring for her great-niece, Briseis.
Wendi found joy in trying new cuisines, listening to music including smooth jazz, and laughing with family any day of the week. She was known for being reserved, kindhearted, and always willing to help and support her family whenever needed. Her loving spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering support will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents: John and Doris Walker, and grandparents: Richard and Helen Walker and Sam and Roberta Kelly.
She leaves to cherish in her memory: her sister, Helen Walker Coleman (Gus), her niece: Kehley Beverly, and great-niece: Briseis; and many other close relatives and friends.
