Sherry Dianne Saunders Carmichael, a God-fearing woman, entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on October 19, 1950, in San Antonio, Sherry was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar and Elsa Saunders. She lived a life marked by faith, hard work, love, and devotion to family and friends.
After graduating from high school, Sherry began a dedicated career that reflected her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. She faithfully served for more than 20 years with Kimberly-Clark, formerly known as Sani-Fresh. She later continued her career with Marriott International, where she worked as a Lead Cook for more than 20 years before retiring.
Sherry was a loving sister, aunt, and dear friend whose kindness and generosity touched many lives. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. Among her many adventures, one of her favorite and most recent trips was to Dallas, where she and loved ones celebrated her sister Shelliah’s birthday during a memorable girls’ trip.
A woman of deep faith, Sherry loved God and was a faithful member of Dedicated Baptist Church for over 20 years. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life and served as an inspiration to those around her.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Elsa Saunders; and her siblings, Connie Butts, Patricia Woods, Saundra K. Saunders, Kimberly Saunders, Carol Guerrero, Charles Saunders, and Tommie Saunders.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her loving siblings: Roslyn Turner, Shelliah Lewis, John Saunders (Sheila), Byron Saunders (Ketha), Frank Saunders (Tanitra), Lonnie Saunders (Linda), and Willie Saunders; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Sherry’s favorite color was red, a fitting reflection of the vibrant spirit she carried throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, dedication, and family devotion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”- Matthew 26:23
She will be forever loved, cherished, and remembered.
