MICHAEL CARTER

June 5, 1967 ~ January 30, 2019

Michael Carter was born June 5, 1967 to Melvin Carter and Lena Ball in San Antonio, Texas. At an early age, Michael's grandmother, Bernice Hartfield Ball introduced him and his siblings to Christ, making sure they attended church on a regular basis. He received his formal education in San Antonio until the family moved to La Vernia, Texas. After graduating from La Vernia High School, Michael began his career with Commercial Metal Company in Seguin, Texas where he was employed for over 30 years until his passing.

Michael's work ethic was instilled in him by his grandfather, Sam Ball. Michael was hard working, loyal, fun-loving and adventurous. Many of us remember him for the outstanding and mouthwatering meals that he enjoyed preparing for his wifey! In addition to cooking, Michael enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and most recently he found joy in fishing.

From a previous marriage, two beautiful daughters were born, Janai Carter, and Desseraye Carter. Desseraye is the mother of two of his grandchildren, Ameer and Ameena. His marriage to Mayme blessed him with a son, Damien Winters, the father of his two additional grandchildren, Kristian and Makai. Also, then had a God-daughter Alyssa Davis and God-son Zatari Davis.

Michael is preceded in death by his grand-parents, and mother Lena Carter. He is survived by his wife, Mayme Carter, his children, grandchildren, and God-children. Siblings Vonciel (Darrell), Beverly, Louise, Mia, Darius, Corry (Ramona), and Kevin. Father and Father in-law (Daniel Winters), and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.
