Resided in: SAN ANTONIO, TX

Mae Evelyn Ware, born May 1, 1938, in El Campo, Texas, entered eternal rest on March 1, 2026, at the age of 87. A woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to her family, Mae lived a life marked by service, kindness, and grace.

Mae was the beloved daughter of Hattie Mae and Joseph Gipson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Ware Sr., with whom she shared a long and loving partnership.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Safronia Ware, Diane Jones, Hattie Ware, Deborah Ware, and Hollis Ware Jr., along with his wife Yazmin. Mae’s legacy continues through her grandchildren—Harold Sorrell, Hollis Ware III, and her great‑granddaughter Mae Ware—as well as her youngest grandchild, Athrun, who brought her special joy in her later years.

For more than 30 years, Mae worked faithfully at Normandy Terrace, where she was known for her reliability, compassion, and gentle spirit. Outside of work, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching old movies, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with the family she loved so dearly.

Mae was a devoted member of New Covenant Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her presence was steady, her heart generous, and her love enduring.

Mae Evelyn Ware will be remembered for her warmth, her resilience, and the quiet wisdom she shared with all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and resting in the peace of God’s eternal care.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
