Born in: Chicago , IL
Resided in: San Antonio, TX

Our beloved, Helena Gardner White, entered eternal rest on October 29, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born a twin on November 14, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Charles and Juanita Gardner.

Helena was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and treasured the moments spent with those she loved. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing Bingo, watching her favorite crime shows, and watching her beloved television programs over and over again. She had a special love for cooking and baking, sharing her delicious creations with family and friends. Some of her happiest moments were spent enjoying Christmas lights with her great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana.” Those memories will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Helena also cherished her quiet mornings, beginning each day with a cup of coffee while sitting on the porch, enjoying the fresh air and feeding the birds. She would always make a special request for bread from the grocery store so she could have plenty to feed her feathered friends. Her favorite color was purple, a reflection of the beauty and personality she carried throughout her life.

Above all, Helena was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. Her presence, laughter, familiar routines, and unconditional love created memories that will be treasured for generations. Though her family will deeply miss her, the love she shared and the special moments they experienced together will live on forever.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving children, Christine R. White, John Thomas White, and Angelina Lynette White; her cherished grandchildren, Sharde Steward, Kadeem White, Donald Deese, Michael Deese, and Isaiah White; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Aydaien Steward, Amiere Steward, Sarina White, Amarion Stewart, and Neikolai Hilbrandt. She also leaves her loving siblings, Charlotte Gardner and Leondaria, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Helena was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Juanita Gardner; her twin sister, Kelmina Gardner; her youngest sister, Precious Gardner; her daughter, Cordelia White; her granddaughter, Quisiah Deese; and a host of other close relatives and friends who welcomed her home.
Though our hearts are saddened by her departure, we find comfort in knowing that her journey here has ended, but her love will never leave us. She will forever be remembered.

Rest peacefully. You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. Your family will carry your love in their hearts until they meet you again.
