Gloria Cecilia Forman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, companion, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, with her loving family near her side.
Gloria was born on November 9, 1963, in New Braunfels, Texas, to George Lee Forman and Adeline Bodron. She was a woman whose life was defined by love, sacrifice, strength, and an unwavering devotion to the people she held dear.
Gloria was a devoted mother of five children and spent her life nurturing and raising her family alongside her beloved companion of 20 years, Donald Barfield. Together, they built a family grounded in love, resilience, and togetherness.
Gloria had a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. She was a true source of strength and compassion, often described as a “Mother Teresa” to anyone in need. Her home was always open, and she never hesitated to offer a helping hand, a place to turn, or a shoulder to lean on. She made ultimate sacrifices for the people she loved and was deeply devoted to her children and her family.
Gloria was also a woman of creativity and style. She had a natural gift for interior decorating, and crafting was one of her favorite hobbies. She loved making beautiful things and bringing beauty into the spaces and lives around her. Glamorous, creative, and full of personality, Gloria had a way of leaving her special touch wherever she went. Purple, her favorite color, was a fitting reflection of her vibrant spirit and the beauty she carried within.
She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved fur baby, Tracy, who brought her companionship and joy.
Gloria will be remembered for her heart of gold, her strength, her generosity, her glamorous spirit, her creativity, and, most of all, her unconditional love for her family. She gave so much of herself to others, asking for little in return. Her legacy lives on through every life she touched, every sacrifice she made, every lesson she taught, and every memory she created.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, George Lee Forman, and her brother, John L. Bodron, and her niece: Tracy Lynwood.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved mother, Adeline Bodron; her loving children, Trichelle Smith, Eric Henson, Corinna Henson, Jessica Barfield, and Ebony Williams; her devoted companion of 20 years, Donald Barfield; her siblings: Dorothy Lynwood, Shawn Moore, and Mary Allen; her cherished grandchildren: Freddie James III, Ginae Spencer, Tra’Nyce Spencer, Elle Dean, Codi Terrell, Anthony Scott III, Amelia Bessard, and Kendall Post, and her two great-grandchildren, Lynoxx Dean and De’Onnie Dean, who affectionately called her “MeMaw.” She treasured her grandchildren beyond measure, leaving behind so many beautiful memories of them; her beloved fur baby, Tracy; and a host of extended family members, loved ones, and friends who were blessed to know her.
Though Gloria’s presence will be deeply missed, her love will never leave those who knew her. Her memory will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched.
Rest peacefully, Gloria. Your work here is done. Your love lives on. Your family will carry you in their hearts forever.
Forever loved. Forever cherished. Forever our MeMaw.
