Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Condolences to the Wright Family. O.W. and I attended both Dunbar and Langston together. We played in the band and orchestra in both high school and college.

  2. For many years, moving to different homes in various neighborhoods, it seemed like I was unlucky in finding good neighbors. However, when my wife and I landed next door to Oscar and Linda, we hit the jackpot. The more I talked with them, the more impressed I was with them both. Oscar was the epitome of gentility and kindness, a real and thorough gentleman. In all the conversations we had I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. That is an extremely rare trait nowadays. I will miss his kindness and wise council. God speed his soul to Heaven.

  3. Linda, Uncle Dub, is with our heavenly father in his renewed body praising and shouting. We’ll all miss seeing him. May the Lord continue to bless your family because he’s only a thought away.

  4. Linda we are so sorry for your loss. Oscar was a kind loving man and I know he will be sorely missed. Nobody could throw a Super Bowl party like y’all! We pray for the peace of God to rest on you now and we pray that all your memories of Oscar bring you nothing but joy.
Terri (North/Gills) and Burnell White Jr.

  5. May God comfort you all during the sadness you feel losing your Father and love one. Uncle OW was always kind and full of joy every time I saw him. Vance and Sharnee your dad is with his creator and smiling down on you all. You will see him again in a perfect place with no sin. My prayers are with you and I love y’all very much

  6. Oh my god!!! I’m almost lost for words. I recently found out of your passing and I’m just devastated, mainly because I wish I would/could of tried to reach out a whole lot sooner. “Mr Wright” simply put was not just my 5th grade teacher(Best I ever had) @Burnet, he was my inspiration as well as mentor in my young life as well as many others. He taught practically my whole family at some point, which is amazing in itself. We were never treated like: “project kids” though we were, He still treated us as young human beings wanting to learn. Although strict, yet firm and just. I will never ever forget the presence in my life. Their will NEVER be another like you. Forever Rest In Paradise 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Your best student ever, Adam W. Wheeler.
