Mr. Thomas Harold Boykin, Sr., the son of Hobert and Roberta Boykin, was born January 15, 1947 in Nacogdoches, TX. He confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age while attending Saint Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches. Mr. Boykin attended the public schools of Nacogdoches and was a proud graduate of E.J. Campbell High School class of 1965. While attending E.J. Campbell, he met the true love of his life, Glorian (Parker) Boykin, and was united in holy matrimony in 1966. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the US Army, where he served as a cook in Germany.
After returning to the United States, Mr. and Mrs. Boykin then settled in San Antonio, TX, where he began a thirty-five year career with Allstate Insurance Company. As he excelled in his career with Allstate, his unwavering commitment to his community shined. As a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Mr. Boykin was on the finance committee, the usher board, and was recognized with multiple accolades including Usher of the Year and Saint Paul UMC Man of the Year twice. He also spent his free time at the church preparing meals for church and community members, as well as working for the church food bank. When away from the church, you could find Mr. Boykin at a nursing home visiting friends, at a luncheon with his former co-workers, as well as spending every waking moment determined to do whatever he could do on that day to make the lives of his family better everyday.
Mr. Boykin was a God-fearing Christian, a devoted husband, and an ever-present father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family passionately and diligently. His legacy will be one of a man who worshiped his God unconditionally, loved and provided for his family tirelessly, and made every place where he was present greater than which he found it.
On January 22, 2026, Mr. Boykin departed this life at his home in San Antonio. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mrs. Glorian Boykin of San Antonio; three children who include Mr. Clifton Dejuan Mergerson of Nacogdoches, Mrs. Anja Demetria (Boykin) Blackadar of Falls Church, VA, and Mr. Thomas H. Boykin, II of Tomball, TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in Virginia and Texas, a niece and nephew in Missouri City, TX, and a host of other relatives and friends to celebrate his life and cherish his memory.

I remember him quite well! He always greeted me, with a smile and a hand shake. I am a member of The Brothers In Harmony Quartet Group. We would sing at St. Paul United Methodist Church, and also rehearse in one of the prayer room. He will definitely be missed. You have my deepest and sincerest sympathy. Charles A. Campbell lll
