DAVID VESTER, JR.

David Vester, Jr. was born on July 12, 1937, the eldest of 15 children to Bertha L. Shelton Vester and David Vester, Sr.

David graduated from Green County High School in Boligee, Alabama. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, traveled over seas and states with his wife by his side. He remained in service to his country for 26 years, retiring as Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Gift Chapel (Main Post Chapel) at Fort Sam Houston.

In early 1965, David met the love of his life, Florence Owens. After two years, courtship and engagement, the two were joined in matrimony on November 18, 1967 (55 years).

Their union was blessed with one son, David, III. David, Jr. worked civil service for 27 years until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to read and do cross­word puzzles.

Following a brief illness, David departed his earthly body on January 11, 2023 at home with his wife and son whom he is survived by. He is loved by his sisters and brothers and a host of relatives and friends.
