WILLIE MAE BIVINS

September 13, 1943 ~ November 2, 2024

Willie Mae Bivins was born on September 13, 1943, to the late Corsey Kelley and Ella Mae Warren. She attended Seal Creek in Stairtown, Texas and Simon Cole High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She spent most of her formative years in Corpus Christi and later relocated to San Antonio, Texas.

At a young age, Willie Mae accepted Christ and became a devoted member of West Mount Nebo Baptist Church. She later transferred her membership to Lilly of the Valley Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Usher Ministry until her health no longer permitted her to do so. She truly lived out Psalm 84:10- Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God that dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Willie Mae dedicated many years of her life to helping others as a Home Health provider at Christus Santa Rosa, where she made a significant impact on the lives of those she cared for.

Willie Mae cherished family time, enjoyed fishing, and had a passion for watching westerns and her beloved soap opera, "Young and the Restless."

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.C. Bivins, Sr., her siblings – Willie James Warren, Arthur Ray Warren, Norvell Warren Palmer, Joseph Kelley, and her son Rodney Bivins.

Willie Mae leaves behind a loving family, including her children Melvin (Cynthia) Brown Sr., Daryl (Laura) Brown, Ron (Jennifer) Bivins, J.C. Bivins, Jr., Tracy (Reginald) Vaughn, and Kenneth Bivins. She is also survived by her siblings LC Kelley, Frankie Warren, Harold Ray Warren, Mary Jane Gilmore, Betty Jean Brown, Corsey Kelley, Jr., Isabel Parker, Annette Castellano, Linda Kelley, Virginia Kelley, Johnny Kelley, Debra Jamrozy, and Lawrence Kelley.

Her legacy continues through her sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will forever cherish her memory.

Willie Mae Bivins will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving spirit, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
