Vera T. Scarlett Williams, born the forth child of six children to Johnnie and Ophelia Harbert, September 5, 1928, enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an avid walker who continued exercising even after the onset of Alzheimer’s. She used her skills in the kitchen to earn a living as a professional cook. She became a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, after moving to San Antonio in mid 50s. There she served for many years on the usher board.
She succumbed to a hard fight with Alzheimer’s January 21, 2022, and will be missed by her entire family. Left to mourn her are her daughter, Linda Scarlett-Bell (Glen), son, Ronnie Eldean Scarlett, grandson, Jihad Bell, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
