TOMMY L JACKSON, JR.

February 21, 1952 ~ October 17, 2024

Born on the 21st day of February 1952 to the union of Tommy L. Jackson, Sr. and Ida Mae Polk Jackson (whom both proceeds him in death). Tommy is the oldest of four children born to this union. There is Robert (proceeds him in death), William and Dina (proceeds him in death). Tommy attended Saint Peter Calvary Catholic School all the way through the 12th grade.

Tommy has three other surviving siblings through his father's second union after his mother's death. Whitney, Jermaine, Jackie Jackson and Larry Thompson.

Tommy Jackson, Jr. met his wife Dorrie Lewis Jackson in 1978. They dated for three years, broke up for two years, dated again for two years until their marriage on March 23, 1986. He had two stepsons, Larry and Michael Sullivan whom he simply adored and loved very, much. Besides him asking Mr. Jesse Lewis for Dorrie's hand in marriage, he felt that it was important to ask her son's as well who gave their approval. He loved his family very much and he worked very hard to provide the best for them. His stepson Larry Sullivan Jr. proceeded him in death.

Tommy Jackson felt extremely blessed to serve and be ordained under the leadership of the Deacon Board Head Deacon and Chairman – Deacon Henry Ray, Sr. He loved Deacon Ray very much for not only teaching him to be a good Deacon but also living the life of one.

Tommy received what he considered the best gift that anyone could have which was the infilling of the HOLY SPIRIT, on January 28th, 1984, and he was extra proud of this date because it was his father-in- law (Deacon Jesse L. Lewis) and Deacon Henry Ray's birthdays. He felt that he served with the best of the best Deacons around, now gone home to be with the lord, Deacon Earnest Jhonson, Deacon Walter Nolden, Deacon Richard Nettles, Deacon Alvin Byrd, Deacon Delmar Pitts, Deacon Henry Ray and Deacon Jesse Lewis and others, also, still with us Deacon now Elder Leonard Fennell.

Now, many of you know and don't know that his nickname was "King Fish or Fish". Many of you called him by his nickname but his wife also known as Dottie, only called him TJ or T.

Deacon Tommy L. Jackson, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dorrie (Dottie) Jackson of 38 years of marriage and 45 years together; Stepson, Michael Sullivan; Sister-in-laws Shirley Pettigrew, Yolanda Baker Lewis, Rhonda Jackson; Nieces, Lorie Blount (Louis), Dr. Lisa Parker, Tammmy Farmer, Latrice Pettigrew, Gee Gee Mitchell (Anthony). Jackson (Terri); Nephews, Jermaine, Andrew, Antoine, Adrian Jackson; Niece, Renita Jackson and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
