STEPHEN JONES-UNDERWOOD

April 23, 1969 ~ February 24, 2019

Stephen "Steve" Mark Jones-Underwood entered this world on April 23, 1969 in San Antonio, Texas. Steve attended Lakeview Baptist School and St. Gerard's Catholic School when the family located El Paso, Texas he completed his elementary years. When relocating to San Antonio, Texas Steve attended Emerson Middle School he later attended Sam Houston High School graduating in 1988 Steve enlisted into the United States Army stationed at Ft. Hood Killeen, Texas. Steve was deployed to Saudi Arabia honorably discharging to San Antonio, Texas. Steve was employed at Santa Rosa Hospital eight years, Metropolitan Hospital for 6 years and University Hospital for 18 years until his untimely death.

Little did we know on Sunday February 24, 2019 God needed someone with Medical-Surgical skills and without hesitation or delay Steve volunteered to serve. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone for part of us went with you. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but God calls us one by one so the chain will link again. Although, Steve had no children of his own he took special pride in sharing the love of the children Alesia  Charmaine and Jermaine with his fiancee Laura Cruz.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Earlie O. Jones Sr., father Raymond A. Underwood Sr. and Uncle Lorenzo Jones.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory his grandmother "Granny" Louise Jones his loving mother Betty Joshua his devoted finance Laura Cruz. Siblings: His twin Stephanie Love (Reginald),Raymond A. Underwood Jr.(Donna), Andre' and Andrea Underwood. Uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Countless friends and acquaintances.

  3. I wish you all comfort and peace during this time. Stephen was a great friend of mine, We worked together at University Hospital for 6 years as well as enjoyed get-togethers after work. I can’t believe he is gone. I have also told another co-worker of ours, Jonathan who now lives in Paraquy South America – He was so sad to here this and sent his prayers to.
