Stella Nation Todd was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1937 from the union of Mr. Bob and Mrs. Stella Nation in Harwood (Gonzales County) Texas. Her parents encouraged her to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and inspired her to lead a life rooted in faith.
Stella attended public school in Crystal City Independent School District, Crystal City, Texas. She was a proud member of Class 1956 at Crystal City High School.
After graduation the family relocated to San Antonio, Texas; she continued her education at St. Philip's (a historically black college). Her career passion was to provide leadership and guidance for young children; which led her to being blessed to receive a Certificate in Child Development. She worked many joyful years at Jackson Kindergarten Day Care Center. Years later, Stella was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank until her health started declining.
Another of many blessings occurred in her life when she met Rev. Central Todd, Jr., and united in Holy Matrimony, Saturday, March 15, 1975. Their marriage was a ministry of service to God, family and the community. Together they attended Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership of Rev. C.J. Todd, Sr., Pastor.
Stella was very proactive in church, served as the President of the Usher Board. She was always willing to step up and work in someone else's place if they couldn't be there to usher. Stella always spoke her mind being loving and caring at the same time. She always enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.
Those that preceded her up the Stairway to Heaven: husband, Rev. Central Todd, Jr.; stepson, Larry Todd; parents, Bob and Stella Nation; five brothers, Manchu, Robert, Walter, Curley and Callon Nation; and three sisters, Catherine McCullough, Nettie County and Laura Todd.
Those waiting on the Lord while cherishing her memories: children, Albert Nation, Sherry Dukes, Herman McConley, Lisa McConley, Shelia Davis, Brenda Corothers, and Tracye Jackson; stepsons, Central Todd III and Russell Todd; (17) grandchildren; (28) great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her presence dearly.
Stella's strength, determination and faith in God remained constant…even while facing health challenges. On Monday, February 4, 2019 after 29,798 days of a glorious life; the Lord called her to Glory.

Prayers and condolences to family
Dear Family:
Please accept my heartfelt condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. The Bible gives us a wonderful hope in the scripture at Revelations 21:4 where it says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” What a wonderful hope to look forward to.Â
