SANDRA Rose RODRIGUEZ

On July 29, 2025 Sandra R. Rodriguez answered the Lord’s call to come home. Sandra was born on February 9, 1953 to Joe F. Lopez and Judy De La Garza.

As a child Sandra was a bit of a tomboy, but later grew up to appreciate ballet and modeling. Around 1972, Sandra married Lester J Dunkin II, and they had two children: Lester and Amanda Dunkin.

Sandra spent the next few years traveling around America with her two children while working. After a few years, Sandra got divorced and moved back to San Antonio with her two children where she became a Registered Nurse (RN).

On June 18, 1988 Sandra married Mike R. Rodriguez, and the two shared a union of 32 years until his departure on July 23, 2020.

During that time Sandra and Mike would donate holiday meals to the church to help families in need. Sandra and Mike would invite military recruits to have holiday meals if they could not return home for the holidays. Many children from our neighborhood grew up calling Sandra “Mom” or “Grandmother” as she took care of her friends’ children while they were deployed overseas.

Sandra R. Rodriguez lived a full, and happy life with her family until her passing. She passed away in her sleep at the age of 72, days after the anniversary of her husband’s passing.

Sandra R. Rodriguez leaves behind her loving family and friends who will miss her in the days to come.
