Sam K. Johnson, Jr., departed this world on November 30, 2024 at the age of 53 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 12, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Sam K. Johnson, Sr. and Lucille M. Johnson.
Sam had a passion for cooking. He worked his entire career in the restaurant business. His first job, while still in High School was at the Tower of The Americas. While working for the Marriott, Sam created a dish that was featured on their menu. Sam joined the La Familia Cortez Group. First with Mi Tierra Café from 2016-2021, then moving over to La Margarita Restaurant from 2022 until his death.
Sam is survived by his daughters, Aniyah (Antoine), Aaliyah (Nathan), and son, Amaree.
Grandsons, Antoine Jr. & Amir. Brother, Joel V. Williams, Sr, and sister, Phillipi Lytle
Nieces, Tammy Plummer & Courtney Lytle, nephew, Joel V. Williams, Jr, and a host of other family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to the Johnson family during this difficult time. Sam will not be forgotten by his family at work. He was a trooper, determined to keep pushing on. He worked hard through these last few years despite his failing health. Even when he was not well enough to be at work, we could not keep him away. And when you tried to stop him, he would get a little feisty. He will be remembered for his kind spirit. Until we meet again! May he rest in eternal peace. My mom Linda Lee Rowe (Johnson) married Sam K Johnson over 30+ ago.I was a little girl along with two of my little brothers.We came already a package but he stepped up to the plate.He had his faults as all of us do.But,his good outweighed the bad a lot of times.He showed me that a man was suppose to be the provider and he kept a job.Even though biological I wasn’t his daughter.You couldn’t tell me or him that.He spoiled me and my daughter his first grandchild and granddaughter.I can see and hear him now telling my mom”Linda that Tasha wants some new hair,”with that stutter.With deep regret,sorrow,and a heavy hurt.I hate that we lost touch for so many years.I believe it was 2007/2008 I seen him in Walmart and I was telling him I got married and he told me he just had a son.Man I’ma always love you Sam and miss you dearly.
Sam was a special man , When we 1st met he told me I was gonna be his wife,& 3 weeks later I became Mrs. Sam k Johnson Jr. Wife. Sammy let me know more then I care to say that my children belonged to him now and he proved it faithfully, he had his favorite my Daughter Natasha Rowe-King she could do no wrong in his eyes ,when he saw his 1st granddaughter being born u could see the love he had for her. That Friday on payday Sam went all out for his Dydy . He loved my boys showed them great work ethics. Sam showed me a lot of true love and he will be so missed by his Wife & his step kids oh wait he made me promise neva to call my kids his step-kids.He said these kids mines now Linda, My Sammy is gone but no longer in pain. I Love u through all the good & crazy times I loved you. It’s with s heavy heart I’m writing these words ,when I 1st met Sam he told me that I would become his wife & 3 weeks later I was Mrs.Sam K Johnson Jr. I didn’t come alone I had 3 children who Sam made sure to treat them like they were his ,U could neva call my children step kids around Sammy . His favorite His daughter Natasha Rowe-King could do no wrong,His sons Johnny & Ta’Meatrce Rowe who he taught great work ethics and his precious Lil princess Dy’Shaiona Rowe. We had a crazy Love but it was real So frm my Family Bennie Lee Rowe , Myself MrsSam k Johnson Jr, his daughter Natasha, his sons Johnny & Ta’Meatrce and his princess his Granddaughter Daughter , We say Fly High Sam We love U , Fly high.no more pain my baby.
