Our beloved Ruby Lee (Mabry) Franklin (wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend) entered eternal rest on October 20, 2024, with her family by her side at 89 years of age.  She was welcomed into the pearly gates of heaven by her Lord and Savior and her loved ones who have gone before her.

Ruby was born to Vollie Mae Lyons and Frank Mabry on September 29, 1935, in Hopkinsville, Texas.  She graduated high school in Cuero, Texas in 1954.  On March 19, 1955, Ruby married Isaac Franklin Sr. and out of the union came eight children.  Ruby had a heart of gold and welcomed everyone with an unforgettable smile and hug.  She was caring, compassionate, spiritual, and brought joy to everyone around her.  She enjoyed spending time with family members, watching sports (especially the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs), listening to music, and dancing.  She touched and blessed many lives during her 89 years here on earth.

Ruby accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized by her father at Antioch Baptist Church in Cuero, Texas.  Ruby was a faithful member of Friendly Will Baptist Church and True Vision Church for several years.  In 2004, she joined Christ Ministries International Church (CMIC) under the leadership of her son (Bishop Michael D. Franklin).  After joining CMIC, Ruby was re-baptized in JESUS name by her son, Bishop Michael Franklin.

Ruby was preceded in the death by her husband/soulmate (Issac Franklin Sr.); parents (Frank and Vollie Mae Mabry); daughter (Barbara Spruill); son (Willie Franklin); brother (Eugene Foley); sisters (Easter Barnett, Goldie Clay; Doris Franklin, Elizabeth Franklin, and Ovie Robinson).

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: sons: Issac Jr. (Diane) Franklin; Sylvester (Kathy) Franklin; Michael Dwayne (Chevone) Franklin; Frank Victor (Lynette) Franklin; daughters: Angelina (Bobby) Satterwhite and Ruby Darlene Franklin; brother: Frank Douglas (Sylvia) Mabry; nineteen grandchildren; thirty- two great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

We will miss you dearly and cherish her memories forever.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ms. Franklin, It was truly an honor and a gift to have had you in mine, and my daughter’s lives. During the time we were neighbors, your family became ours as well, and we will always treasure that. My favorite memories from those days have to do with me either being upset about something unethical my job did, or at my instructors for not knowing what they were doing. I would step over to vent and you would look over at me just knowing I was about to cuss up a storm, and I would do everything I could to hold those words in, but I would slip up.

Your presence is definitely missed. Visiting the house will never be the same. Play with our Tiny Angel and give him lots of hugs and kisses for us.

Until we meet again Sweet Lady.

    With Love and Light,
    Evie and Juju
