Rosetta M. Columbus, a woman of profound compassion, quiet strength, and an unwavering heart, entered eternal rest on January 1, 2026, at the age of 81. As the world turned toward a new year, Rosetta transitioned peacefully, leaving behind a rich legacy of healing and unconditional love that will forever be a guiding light for those who knew her.

A dedicated servant to her community, Rosetta devoted 43 years of her life to the noble calling of nursing as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). In her work specializing in psychology and substance abuse, she was known for her extraordinary patience and a genuine, non-judgmental desire to help others navigate their darkest hours. To Rosetta, her professional life was not merely a career, but a sacred commitment to witness, hold space for, and support the restoration of the human spirit.

Beyond her professional achievements, Rosetta was a woman of gentle, soulful joys. She possessed a true green thumb, finding peace and purpose among her roses. Her home was a sanctuary reflecting her spirit—serene, welcoming, and filled with her cherished collection of angel figurines that stood as silent guardians of the peace she cultivated. A gifted cook and baker, she understood that a shared meal was a vessel for love; her kitchen was the heart of many family gatherings. A masterful listener, Rosetta possessed the rare gift of presence, ensuring that anyone who spoke to her felt truly seen, deeply valued, and heard.

Her family was the center of her universe. Rosetta delighted in the magic of childhood, creating a world of wonder for her grandchildren through movie outings, summer adventures, and legendary sleepovers that forged unbreakable bonds. Her nurturing spirit was so vast that it could not be contained by bloodlines alone; she was a mother figure to many, offering a soft place to land and a steady hand to anyone in need of guidance.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Henry Columbus, Sr.; her sons, Henry Columbus, Jr. and Reginald Columbus; and her parents.

Her legacy of kindness is carried forward by her loving son, Darryl (Donnie) Columbus; and Carl Lee Columbus, Jr., her beloved son of the heart, whom she loved and claimed as her own. She is also survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Licia Columbus; her three cherished grandchildren, Jason “Pumpkin” Columbus (April), Brittany “Bri” Columbus, and Wittany “Wi” Columbus; and three great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Deion, Jaidyn, and Braylon Columbus.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her nieces, Terri and Nicole Butler; her nephew, Kevin Butler; and a host of many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members whose lives were made brighter by her warmth and grace.

Rosetta M. Columbus will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Though she has taken her flight, her melody remains—a beautiful, echoing song of love in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
