RONALD TERENCE COLEMAN

November 18, 1951 ~ May 5, 2023

Ronald Terence Coleman, born November 18, 1951 in Mobile, Alabama.  The oldest child of Russell and Anne Coleman was christened in Big Zion A.M.E Church, Mobile Alabama.  Ronald received his early religious training in Big Zion, active in Sunday school, the youth choir, and Vacation Bible School.

Due to his parent’s employment, the family transferred to San Antonio, Texas in 1967 where Ronald attended to Edgewood High School and was a member of the basketball team. He went on to attend college and graduate from Idaho State University.

After completing college, Ronald went on to pursue a career in insurance as a claims adjuster.  He worked for AETNA and the Texas Municipal League.  It was during the beginning stages of his career that he met and then married the love of his life, Bennetta Coleman in 1977.  They lived together in San Antonio for 45 years.  To this union was born two beautiful children, Terence and Shayla.

Ronald was a lifelong servant of the Lord.  Active at Sherman Chapel AME Church as a young teenager and into early adulthood.  Then becoming a member of New Life Christian Center where he was a member of the choir, and was entrusted to become a church elder.  In fact, most days of the week Ronald was doing something for the church.  He loved the Lord and his church family.

Ronald was a great husband and wonderful father.  He loved spending time with his children, family and friends.  He enjoyed watching a good basketball or football game and then tell you what the teams should have done different if they wanted to win.  He lived life to the fullest and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Anne Willis Coleman and Russell E. Coleman III, his wife Bennetta Coleman, his sister Nannette Ruggs, and his half-brother David Coleman.

Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memories a devoted and loving family.  Two children, Terence and Shayla, sister Jocelyn Andrews, beloved cousins Marcia Ruggs and Byron Williams.  Three grandchildren: Anthony Coleman (9), Leila Coleman (6), and Journey Hobbs (3) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
