Procus L. Washington

Life Epitome

The Angel of Death visited our family on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and claimed a jewel, Our Mother Procus L Evans Washington. Procus was born December 9, 1950 in Lavaca County Texas to the late Henry Lee Evans and Autra Verdell Tyler- Evans. She was a special child who was blessed to have two mothers and fathers. She was reared by Haywood Adams, Sr. and Odessa Adams. She attended school in the Marion Independent School District in Marion, Texas.  Procus graduated from The Marion Senior High. On December 6, 1974 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to a young Airmen from Baton Rouge, Louisiana named Freddy Ray Washington who was station at Lackland Air Force Base Texas.  Love filled the air and thus was the beginning of her life as being a military wife. Procus was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She traveled with her husband extensively throughout Centennial Europe and Asia during his military tour. Freddy loved Procus with all his heart. They shared a running joke that Freddy only married her for her brains.  To this union three children were born, Vanessa, Shawn and Dwaine Washington. Freddy and Procus decided to make their home in San Antonio, Texas.   After her husband retired from the military Procus return to further her education She attended St. Phillips College and University of Texas at San Antonio, Texas.

Procus was reared in a Christian home. Having a grandfather, the late Reverend Sebron C. Tyler, Sr. who was the founder of the” Church of God “here in Texas.  She was taught about Jesus Christ and accepted Him at an early age as her personal Lord and Savior.  She and her family united with St Paul Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years. Singing in the choir, working with the Junior Mission. A Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director. Whatever her hands found to do she was a worker in God’s vineyard. Procus love helping others, she worked for many years for Humana, she was Instrumental in helping set up the “Lupus Foundation here in San Antonio. She had a degree as A Respiratory Therapist. Procus loved working with Floral Arrangements, Wedding Planner and Collecting Angels were some of her hobbies. Spending precious time with her family was something she cherished. She loved to sing and on any given Sunday afternoon you might would hear her singing on somebody program.

Procus is met at the “Pearly Gates by her Husband Freddy R. Washington of 29 years of marriage. Parents Henry Lee & Autra Tyler Evans and Haywood Adams Sr. & Odessa Adams. Three Sisters~ Marilyn, Beverly, and Lorne.

She leaves to cherish her memories one Daughter Vanessa Washington, two Sons~ Shawn Washington, Dwaine (Domonique) Washington, Grandchildren Adam, Jorrell, Sierra, Kiara, Prince, Laila, Mya, and, Kai. Great Grandchildren~Amariae, Janell Amiyah and Jacai. Three Sisters Linda M. Evans; Jackie (Gregg) Bolds from San Antonio, TX. and Charlotte (Monie) Ulis from Virginia. One Brother ~Haywood (Angela) Adams, Jr, One Great Aunt Ezra Mae McIntyre. Three God children ~ LaTressa Daniels, Marcell Taylor, and Carlos Moon, Godmother~ Bishop Ora Mae Griffin. God Brother Alexander (George) Griffin. Godfather~ Mr. (G’s). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Yes I miss our Facebook meetups and encouraging each other  often with our faith … The comments and likes we set on each other’s page . Salute To My Dear Sister in Christ 
    ..You did it and did it well. In excellence you gave the best of you here and everyone who knows you can tell….Your Praise is even Higher now !!! Your free from pain too. As God graces me and the rest of us ..we will have our meetup as All believers do . You are more alive than ever before and never again a worry. Yes I will as the family allows stay in touch as often as I can. To Dwayne Banned and Shawn , my heart felt lose is grand …for I know to these are hard times to not see that living smile and cheerful grin.  If you will ,let’s keep in touch more and fill the spaces with memories and joy. For the Fabulous Friday and Super Saturdays were legacies She left not to ignore.   Every day was a day of poetry and praise ..keep that legacy strong.  For it is with our Seeds of Greatness that we know the testimonies live on ..Keep that song of salvation in your Heart head up and know the Battle is Won!!! We praise Hod for this Loving Queen who retires the birthday suit to Soar. A SuperWoman of Faith . My love and  Hugs of Support as we celebrate Her Home going . Thank you for embracing Momma Wilson as it’s a hurt for her too.  I miss my mother even now but it’s the share of Love that’s true . Two Sisters in Christ one just made it ahead of the other .  We thank the Lord for her sacrifice and stance as Aunt and Surrogate mother. ..Hugs to you all because no one ever truly replaces our Mothers
      The Lord God comforts us in the furtherance of this journey now… .May the candle serve to warm your heart to know …prayers flow and follow as you go… The joy of the Lord is our Strength. .as you accept ccept mom’s  love and accept mine too. Call me anytime of day or night ….or text or send a like ….I am available to receive the call and respond with a timely reply.
