NELCINE FLOYD

Nelcine Floyd was born November 4, 1933 in Fayetteville (Fayette County) Texas. She was the fifth of five siblings born to the late Edward and Essie (Marshall) Orise. Nelcine attended public school and graduated from Fayetteville High School and relocated to San Antonio, Texas following graduation in 1951.

In 1952, Nelcine married the late Steve Edward Floyd in San Antonio, TX. Their marriage lasted for forty-five years until he was called home in 1997. To their union, two children were born, Janice Princella Floyd and Steve Otis Floyd. In 1955, Nelcine began employment at Sommers Drug Store as a fountain clerk in which she worked there for ten years before solely dedicating her time to her family.

Nelcine’s love for God led her to join Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member for many years. Anyone who knew Nelcine, knew she was kind, family oriented, soft spoken and unwavering in her beliefs. She leaves to cherish her memories; her Daughter: Jancice Floyd; Son: Otis Floyd (Pauline); Grandchildren: Cheryl Floyd, Lonnie Saunders, Stacey Foy, and Brionna Floyd; Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Robinson, Laura Saunders, and Vanessa Saunders and a host of other relatives and friends.
