Lorenzo Delane Lott was born on December 16, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Lillian Livingston Lott and Rufus Lott. He was the eldest of eight siblings: Freddie, Margaret Maxine, Vernon, Rufus Jr, David, Frank White III, and Andria.
Growing up, some of Lorenzo’s fondest memories were from his first job as a young boy, caring for racing greyhounds and hunting jackrabbits. Those early experiences helped shape the hardworking and disciplined man he would become. Lorenzo attended Phyllis Wheatley High School, where he excelled in track, running hurdles. After graduating, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1963 to 1969 as an aircraft mechanic. His service took him all around the world, Vietnam, Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan becoming some of his favorite places and the source of many of his war stories.
Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Lorenzo continued his education, earning college hours before beginning work at Kelly Air Force Base. It was there that he met the love of his life, Phyllis. Through their union, Lorenzo gained a daughter and a son, Yvette and William Tutt, whom he raised as his own with unwavering love and commitment.
Lorenzo was a man of few words, private by nature, deeply proud of his home and the life he built. He was a devoted husband, a steady provider, and the embodiment of strength for his family. After retiring from Kelly. He stepped into the role of (Papa) taking on parental guardianship for his grandchildren, Sydney, Courtney and Jacob. Caring for them fiercely, Showing his love through action, sacrifice and showing up consistently. Leading and instilling in them strong values that will last a lifetime.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, responsibility, love and quiet devotion that will live on through the generations he helped shape. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Lorenzo is Proceeded in death by his parents, Lillian Livingston Lott, Rufus Lott, Step Mom Dorloros Lott, Brother Rufus Lott Jr, Wife Phyllis Lott, Son William Christopher Tutt.
Lorenzo is survived by siblings Freddie Lott(Sonya) Maxine Smith, Vernon Lott(Loretta)David Lott, Frank White III, Andria White,(Orie Lott). Daughter: Yvette Tutt, Grandchildren: Sydney Brundidge, Courtney Hansford, Jacob Holmes, Jabari Tutt, Jeremiah Tutt, Khali Tutt and Khaliyah Tutt. Great-Grandson Pharaoh Cruz.
He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, including nieces Stephanie Thompson-Roberts, Renee McGee, Goldie, Amber Lott, Elisabeth Lott, and Raquelle Lott, and nephews Jamar, Rufus III, Ronnie, Miko Smith, Vernon, and Cameron Lott.
