LEROY LEE SMITH

 LeRoy Lee Smith, Jr. was born on November 1, 1983 in San Antonio, TX to Verna Joyce Smith and LeRoy Lee Owens. He attended Tynan Elementary, Jeff Davis M.S., and Brackenridge H.S., where he was a star running back on the varsity team. He later transferred to Sam Houston H.S.

LeRoy accepted his Lord and Savior at an early age. He frequently read and studied his bible. He was proudest of being a father of four beautiful and loving children: Dayvonne, Kayla, LeRoy III and Paisley. He also cherished his new role as grandfather to granddaughter, Catalaya. Even though he was the middle son, he felt he was the oldest and could tell his brothers, Andre and Darrell, what to do and took the role as my brother's keeper to heart.

On July 11, 2012, he entered into holy matrimony to Kimberly Robinson. They shared an undying love for each other for nearly 11 years.

LeRoy in French means King and he lived up to this in every way. He was the embodiment of life itself. A character full of charisma and charm. Mysterious and mesmerizing yet who you knew you could rely on, go to for advice or who would give you his last to help you out. A lover of music, singing and could recite lines from movies as if he were the actors themselves. His love was unique, warm and genuine. You could especially feel it in his hugs. Other times it manifested in him being a protector. He was an absolute family man and family meant the world to him. A forever Spurs and Chicago Bears fan to the end, never missing a game if possible. He will be known for his quick wit, infectious smile and his kind and endearing soul.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ms. Lola Mae Simpson and grandfather, Mr. Ples Smith, grandmother, Ms. Magaline Owens and sister, Jacquline Brown.

He is survived by wife Kimberly Smith; mother, Verna Rogers; father, LeRoy Owens (Crystal); children: Dayvonne Smith, Kayla Smith, LeRoy III and Paisley Smith.; brothers: Andre Smith, Darrell (Tyshay) Smith and LeMont Owens; uncles: Roy Bowden, Michael Smith, Charles Smith, Marvin Smith, Melvin Smith; granddaughter, Catalaya Smith; and sister-in-law, Chante Green. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
