Kathlean (Kat) Davis was born November 4, 1948 in Camden, Texas to Farris and Nora Mac Freeman.
The family moved to San Antonio, Texas where Kat attended Grant Elementary School, Dunbar Junior High School, and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1968. She went on to attend St. Phillips College in pursuit of her nursing certification.
She met the love of her life, Donnie (Lightnin') Davis in elementary school where the two were known to be good friends. In June 1967, the friendship evolved into true love, and they were later united in holy matrimony. To this union they welcomed two daughters Regina Lynette Davis (Harris) and Don'Sha LaShawn Davis (McCoy).
Kat accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a very early age. She carried her commitment to the Lord into adulthood where she was a dedicated member of Palestine Baptist Church serving on the nursing board, choir, and any area where her talents could be used to bring Him glory.
She was best known for the love and support she poured into her family. Being there for her husband and daughters, as well as spoiling each of her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. Kat will be most remembered for being the life of every party. Her vibrant smile, signature blonde hair, and stylish head to toe outfits captured the hearts of family, friends, and church family alike. She never met a stranger.
She leaves to cherish her memory her adoring husband, Donnie Ray Davis; two daughters: Regina Harris and Don'Sha McCoy (Rodney); 5 grandchildren: Devante Brandon Harris, Alexus Harris, Madison McCoy, Sydney McCoy, and Rodney Trent McCoy II; one great-grandson: Brayden Rae Harris; one sister: Eva Darden (Nathaniel) of Houston, TX; and one brother: Malcolm Freeman. She also leaves a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Farris and Nora Mae Freeman; sisters: Lois County (Paul), Mildred Simmons (John Jr.), & Susie Simmons (Curtis).

My condolences to the Davis family. . I hope you draw comfort from the following scriptures. When one losses a loved one it is only natural to ask, “Will they live again”? The Bible writer, Job asked the same question please read, Job 14:14-15. The scriptures also assures us that God is eager to resurrect your loved one, who is now sleeping in the grave. 1 Corinthians 15:26 shows that God views death as an enemy.
