Mr McBride, although I did not have the pleasure of meeting you in person my son Titus your son in law spoke of you often. He spoke of your wonderful personality and how you accepted him from day
one. You made a lasting impression on him as a man and a father. I know he truly cherished the time the two of you spent together. Rest In Peace.
Sincere condolences to the family.
Hes smile was impeccable and grace unattainable. He has led his flock at ease and spoke with intent. His stories were filled with love that consumed us. I wish I had a father like you, in this short period of time that Ive had with you it has shown me how a father is supposed to love his children. Hard working, and always putting those before him. He is an example of total selflessness . To have a father like you would have been great. But then again I had to realize that he treated me like his own. He has shown me love when I couldnt see it. Ive learned that I was one of his own, I was finally accepted. I miss and love you dearly, your teachings have made me into the man I am today. Loving, caring, accepting, and most of all a black father..
My Dear Uncle Johnie, you were always there for us even though you were out of state. You always remembered my birthday and I will always miss you.
Cynthia, Andrea and Rickey.
My Dear Uncle Johnie, you will be sorely missed. You were one of the most non-judgmental and comforting souls that I have ever known. You showed us love and we basked in it. Love, Marcia and Jessica, aka, “Fat Head”(his nickname for her).
My Dear Uncle Johnie, I will always remember the times when I would kiss you on your cheek and then you would point to the other cheek and say, “You have to kiss this side too because the other side would get jealous . You were well-loved and you will be missed but we will always carry you in our hearts. Love, Wanda, Vincent, Vincent Jr. (Boo) and BJ.
Uncle Johnny will be missed by all. His big smile and magnetic personality would always light up a room. I’m so glad that I was able to see him in November in Las Vegas. Rest well Unc!
Dear Nieces and Nephews,
Our hearts and love are with you as you grieve your fathers passing. He had a wonderful time on his yellow scooter in Vegas; frequently commenting that he didnt come to Vegas to sit in his hotel room. Please know that even with his physical limitations, it did not stop him from participating in the tours, going out to dinner and the three variety shows we attended. Hopefully the pictures of him enjoying himself and his scooter brings comfort to you and maybe even a small smile.
We are regretful and hurt that we are unable to be there with you at this time. The weather, COVID as well as physical and medical limitations have made it impossible to travel. So, we say to you:
We love you. Aunt Bertha
Our brother will truly be missed. Aunt Mary
We are with you in spirit and virtually, thanks to modern technology, even if not physically.
Aunt Dorothy
Love never fails so keep loving each other. Aunt Susie
Lovingly submitted,
Johnies sisters and their families.
