JEWEL GARCIA WATSON VALENTINE

January 7, 1937 ~ November 24, 2022

Jewel Garcia Watson Valentine, known to many as “Jewel B”, age 85, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022. She was born in Seguin, Texas to Herman Garcia and Cleo Clack Garcia on January 7, 1937. She was the second of five children.

Jewel’s spiritual journey began at an early age and was a baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas; where she was a member until she moved to San Antonio, Texas.

Jewel attended school in Corpus Christi and was a graduate of Solomon Coles High School in 1956. After graduation, she continued her education at Hicks Beauty School in San Antonio, Texas and became a certified beautician. Jewel had an eye for beauty and was very talented at making floral arrangements and decorating.  She found great joy in decorating for weddings, special occasions, and her church.

Jewel was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Jewel is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Garcia and Cleo Clack Garcia, siblings, Franklin Garcia, Charles (Beverly) Garcia, Selia (Julian) Garcia Simms and Lacy (Jessie) Garcia.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Beverly (Michael Jarmon) Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gathering of family and friends will be begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel, 811 S. W.W. White Road. Services will conclude after chapel service.
