Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and a great friend to many passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2024, at 89 years old.
James was born to Willie and Louella Pollard on November 4, 1934, in Columbus Texas. He was preceded in death by both parents (Willie and Louella) and one brother Joe Pollard. He has left to mourn: His loving wife of over 58 years Corine, daughter Mary Bacon (Jeffery and grandchildren), son Dwayne Pollard, Sister Wilma Jean Wiggins, Sister Reba Grant (Ray), Brother Williams Pollard (Esther), Brother Ernest Pollard, Sister-in-law Joyce Williams (Carnell), Sister-in Law Paula Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Also, Oz, their sweet rescue pup.
James Pollard served in the United States Air Force. He retired from the San Antonio Housing Authority after 30 years of dedicated employment. Bubba as we called him was a fairly quiet man with a noble loving presence and humbleness about him. He was always willing to do for others. James was a member of the Second Baptist Church, San Antonio at the time of his passing. At his former church (Tried Stone Baptist Church, San Antonio) James served as a Deacon and choir member for many years and was a major part of the Food Ministry.
We know that Bubba, our loving family member, is with Almighty God, and is smiling down on us.
A memorial gathering is currently being planned.

When I opened the link and saw Uncle Bubba, it was like looking at my father, Joseph, who preceeded him in death. Then, I remembered the last image that I saw of Uncle Bubba was at Christmas when I was at my Auntie Jean’s house. My cousin, Big Philip had taken a picture from a family vacation and placed it in a beautiful frame for my Aunt Jean. Uncle Bubba was in the picture towards the forefront with the rays of the sun shining on him. In the background was a serene scene of clear blue water and my little cousins enjoying themselves. Recently, I have been focused on going to Texas to see all of my Pollard Family. Ultimately, it is those priceless and invaluable moments, images, and memories that instill in us what family is all about and how blessed we are to have family. Ultimately, I take solace in knowing that My Father and Uncle Bubba are in Heaven watching over their family!
