“Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-19
Mrs. Idell Corinne (Standifer) Bean, lovingly known by her family as Poochie, born on April 10,1943, was the only child born to Mr. Odell Standifer and Corinne Lewis Standifer of San Antonio, Texas. She attended Catholic School at Saint Peter Claver in 1959 and after graduation enrolled in Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas where she was honored by her classmates as Valedictorian.

To this sacred union seven children were born. Married 61 years, they made their home on the east side of San Antonio, Texas, in Denver Heights.
Idell accepted Christ at a very young age. She was a devout member of the Second Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX under Rev. S.H. James and Rev. Dr. Robert L. Jemerson until her passing. Idell joyfully served in several missions during her many years of membership. She received the honor of being Mother of The Year as well as serving on the Usher Board and attended Sunday School faithfully. She humbly served on the kitchen committee whenever needed and was devout in her service when called to assist. She was passionate about her walk with Christ and always instilled this passion in her children, grandchildren and family. The family worshiped together at Second Baptist and celebrated many milestones over the many years of her membership.
Idell was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Bean; parents Odell and Corinne Standifer; son, Garry Ray Bean, and half-sister Gladys Johnson. She leaves to cherish in her memory and legacy, Deborah McKinnon of San Antonio, Texas; Yolanda Bean of San Antonio, Texas; Linda Bean of Converse, Texas; Cheryl (Richard) Matthews of San Antonio Texas; Darryl Ray Bean of New Braunfels, Texas; Cecil Ray Bean, San Antonio, Texas; 18 grandchildren,8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Idell was honored by H-E-B Grocery with several awards and celebrations throughout her tenor. She will be truly missed by her many fellow Partner’s, customers and community.
Idell was also very passionate about “Her” San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys. She could often be heard “coaching” her teams couch side during the away games and courtside when she had the opportunity to attend a home game chanting “Go Spurs Go.” She was truly a loyal fan.
