HILDERINE JONES

September 11, 1923 ~ November 13, 2019

Hilderine Jones-Jones was born to Wheeler and Minnie Lee Jones on September 11, 1923.

Hilderine Jones-Jones attended The Texas Dumb and Blind Institute in Austin, TX completing her education as an ALS Certified Sign Language Interpreter.

In 1940 after completing her education she moved to San Antonio, Texas and married Edmond (Bud) Menefee and had one son, Edmond Jerome Menefee.

Hilderine joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her health started falling.

In 1963 she married Albert Chester Jones and they remained married until his passing in December of 1990.

She is preceded in death by three sisters (Dorothy Anderson, Christine Wiston, and Doris Jean Poole), five brothers (W.J. Jones, Calvin Jones, Wheeler Jones, Al Fay Jones, Johnny Jones), and husband Albert Chester Jones.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her sister Ellas Raye Nicholas, her son Edmond J Menefee (Loretta), grandkids Edmond J Menefee Jr (Neice), Unique Menefee, Emmanuel Menefee (Kelly), Natalie Cruse (Roy), LaTheasa Stevens (Napoleon) and sixteen great-grand kids and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

  1. “Aunt Rine” , Such a beautiful lady who had nothing but love in her heart.  She loved her nephew and was always there for him and his family. I lost touch with her after my husband(her nephew) passed but I am so glad to know she lived a rich full life in God’s hands.

  2. Christina and I will cherish your memories sneaking you snickers bars at the nursing home. I remember the day I first met you like it was yesterday but it was 11 yrs ago. You will be missed RIP sweetheart.
