GERALDINE L. JACKSON

Geraldine Lewis Jackson (Nina), 93, gained her angel wings on October 25, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas.

Gerry was born to Emil and Tommye Lewis on January 20, 1927 here in San Antonio. She matriculated through St. Peter Claver Catholic School and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business. She married James R. Jackson on December 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Gerry worked as an Executive Secretary for Volkswagen South Central Distributors, Lachman-Rose Co., and San Antonio Small Business Administration throughout her career. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and was in the very first debutante class of the Van Courtlandt Social Club of San Antonio.

She loved dancing the night away and was a seasoned gardener. She also enjoyed spending time socializing with close friends and attending brunch with her group ‘The Birthday Girls’. Nina was a staple on the sidelines on all of her grandchildren’s games and competitions. She traveled across the country to witness their achievements and meet the newest family members.

Gerry is preceded in death by her husband James Jackson, brother Emil Lewis Jr, sister Roselyn Terrell, daughter-in-law Carrie Jackson, grandsons James Anthony and Devin Jackson, and great-granddaughter Kaylee Davis.

Gerry is survived by her children Gerald Jackson, Gordon Jackson and wife Frances, Greg Jackson and wife Adriane, Jamette Davis and husband Odie III; grandchildren Randi (Robert), Kyle (Jeanine), Mark (Taylor), Tiffany, Lauren (Gary), Odie IV (Sheneice), Gregory II, Christal (Luis), Shelly (Eddie), and Courtney; great-grandchildren Sydney, Orieah, Detrick Jr, Rozee, and Koree and a host of extended family and friends.
