Eric Douglas Hendrix was born in Killeen, Texas at Fort Hood on September 6, 1960 to Alfred H. Hendrix, Sr. and Mary F. Hendrix. He was the fourth of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix. He went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2020.
Eric was affectionately called "Douglas" or "Doug" by his family and friends. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1979. Eric enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1983 as a Technical Sergeant. He served in the United States Air Force National Guard from 1983 to 2005. Eventually, he had a career in the oil industry during his last residence in Arlington, Texas. Douglas enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. He specifically enjoyed music, dancing, and traveling. He especially cherished his exciting times in Europe and Miami, Florida.
Eric leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Mary F. Hendrix; brother, Alfred "Bruce" Hendrix, Jr.; three sisters, Yvonne (Joe) Powell, Rhonda Dunn, and Samone Hendrix; three nephews, Derrick (Shanell) Maxie, Brandon (Jaime) Maxie, and Jason (Tunette) Powell; niece, Monique (Terrion) Rogers; three great nephews, Jason Joe, Joah, and Jordan Powell; great niece, Madison Maxie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Alfred H. Hendrix, Sr.
There will be a deposit at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

I am so happy we reunited as a family over 25 years ago. We had not seen each other since we were kids, but once we visited your mom many years ago, we kept in touch.
