CALVIN JEROME MASSENGALE

Calvin Jerome Massengale, Sr. was born November 18, 1953, to Herman Jerome Caldwell and Matilda Massengale. Calvin’s mother married Frank Loud, Sr. on August 20, 1960. Frank Loud Sr. became the bonus father in Calvin’s life, and their relationship was filled with love. Calvin’s parents and son Marcus Leigh Massengale preceded him in death.

Calvin accepted Christ at an early age. He joined St. John Baptist Church, Oceanside Calif. He later relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where he became a member of Wheatley Heights Baptist Church.

Calvin received his education through the Oceanside Unified School District.

Calvin met June Boyd in 1970 and his first daughter Latonya Yevette Massengale was born. Calvin would later marry Angela Smith in 1983 and to this union 8 children (3 boys and 5 girls) Monique, Calvin Jr., Naomi, Marcus, Karmen, Kandance, Jennifer, and Calvin III. Calvin later had one son Ronald, and one daughter Asiajnea Lastly, Calvin gained two bonus children, Rodney and Robin.

Calvin worked at Camp Pendleton, Commissary in Oceanside Calif. Once he moved to Texas he worked at Fox & Jacob Home Builder in Houston, Tx.

He would settle permanently in San Antonio, Tx where his employment included: Caparelli, Mr. & Mrs G’s and Bayseas restaurants; George Strait Truck Wash and Normandy Terrace Healthcare and Rehab Center.

Being a family man, Calvin was crazy about his children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. Calvin loved his family and would do anything for them. He loved family social gatherings, where he would share his younger life journeys with many of the young adolescents, and anyone who would listen. Calvin was a loyal, and devoted friend and had your back through thick and thin.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memories: 13 Children, Latonya Massengale-Noble,(Anthony) Cleveland, OH; Monique Massengale-Wolford (Ernest)SATX; Calvin Massengale, Jr., SATX; Naomi Massengale-Sutton (Dominic); Marcus Massengale (Deceased) Karmen Massengale-Thomas (Ayinde) Kandace Massengale-Chaney (David), Jennifer Massengale, Calvin Massengale llI, Rodney Mitchell, SATX; Robin Mitchell, SATX; Ronald Sims, SATX; and Asiajnea Massengale, SATX; his brother Frank(Bedia) Loud Jr., SATX; 28 grand-children, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; 1 nephew and a host of relatives and friends.
