BRENDA JOYCE MATTHEWS

Brenda Joyce Matthews was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on February 3, 2021 at age 78.

She was born to George and Anne Williams on January 16, 1943. Brenda fulfilled her calling and became a Registered Nurse where she served at hospitals throughout the San Antonio community and overseas. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Barry Matthews who she married in 1963, they built a life together and had two sons.

Brenda was by nature a caretaker and always offered her love and support to loved ones, friends and others. Brenda loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her son Kevin M. Matthews father George W. Williams, mother Anne B. Williams and her sister Shirley Thornton. She is survived by her son Stephen Matthews wife Rosie, brother Charles Jackson, Sister Sheila Hunter, grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Vanessa, Victoria, and Valerie Matthews and two great grandchildren Gia, Jaden Valenzuela, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
