Blanche Audrey Shaw Russ-Glover was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on November 20, 1931 to Irene Marie Smith Shaw and Thomas Burwell Shaw, Jr.
Blanche Russ-Glover was the founder and CEO of PCI – Parent Child Incorporated. Blanche A. Russ-Glover retired after 10 years with EODC – Economic Opportunity Development Corporation and 26 years as Founder and CEO of PCI – Parent Child Incorporated.
Blanche is preceded in death by her husbands Rev. Linwood F. Russ and Alvoyd D. Glover, parents Irene Marie Smith Jones, Thomas Burwell Shaw, Jr. and Edward Lee Jones. Her siblings Mamie Louise Shaw, Thomas Burwell Shaw III and George Walter Jones. A daughter Angela Glover and granddaughter Vanesia LeBlanc.
Blanche leaves in God’s care to celebrate her life and legacy her children – Audrey Irene Dove (Alus) , Linwood Carlton Russ (Cynthia), Jan Hess (Gabriel), Vicki Washington (James) ,Toni McDowell (Gerald) and Karen Thompson (Jason). Grandchildren – Dr. Stephanie Cudjoe (Anthony), Tsgt Stephen Dove (LaDashia), Carlton D. Teal, Julian Lary, Marcus Hess, Andrew Washington III, Trevor Washington, Taylor McDowell, Wesley McDowell, Zion Thompson, Isaiah Thompson, and Stephen Thompson. Great-grandchildren –KeAyla, KeLan, Zari, Alana, Cameron, Marquis, Malik, Makayla, Trey’jon, Aijah, Jada, Taylor, Aiden. Seven great-great grandchildren. Her sister and best friend, Maryellen Jones and a host of family and friends.

You Have Opened Soo Many Doors For Soo Many People In The City Of San Antonio! You Gave My Mother Her Very First Job With Head Start-PCI! You and Betty Jones bumped heads often But she learned so muh from you! She often said Blanche is one of the wisest women I know other than my mother! My Aunts, My Cousin & A Plethora Of Church Members Worked For Head Start. I Attended Head Start as well. You have been apart of my family my entire life & you were a blessing in so many ways. You paved the way for many & opened Doors for plenty! Such a beautiful person inside and Out and we have Soo much love & respect for you. Nobody can ever fill your shoes Mrs Russ-Glover! Today, I thought of all of the most inspiring women in business that I had the opportunity to work for and you came to my memory. I decided to search your name on the internet and learned of your passing. In 1991, I was hired at PCI, Head Start Clinic, under Joe Segura. I learned a lot from you, just watching the way you carried yourself in the workplace and in public. Thank you for being a great role model for young women during that time. Thank you for your leadership and for helping so many people in San Antonio. Continued prayers to your family and friends. Rest In Eternal Paradise.
