Bettye Jo Hatchett, “A Virtuous Woman of God,'' born in Bryan, TX, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Faithfully Serving Assisted Living, Encompass Hospice, San Antonio, TX, at age 88. She met God resting peacefully in her sleep.
She leaves a host of family members, church members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents and sister, Ethel. She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Jr and Derrick (San Antonio), Michael and wife Cynthia (Pearland); daughter, Tonia (Dallas); five granddaughters, Lael (United Kingdom) and Syretta (Los Angeles), Madalaine, Rachael, and Trinity (Pearland); nieces, nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that I pen this note to the family of Mrs. Betty Jo Hatchett. Ms. Hatchett was my high school typing teacher at E. A. Kemp High, Bryan, Texas. She inspired me to work toward my dream which was to be an executive secretary. I was successful in exceeding that goal and retired as an office manager. I am so happy that our paths crossed as she was a real motivator to me. Your love one will live on in your memories.  I will remember you in prayer that God will strengthen you as only he can.
