BETTY JEAN MARTIN

Betty Jean Martin, 68 of Gladewater, Texas passed away on September 28, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.

Betty Jean Martin was born in Gladewater, Texas to the parents of Johnny Martin and Dessie Lee Miller on February 18, 1954. 

She went to school at Weldon in Gladewater, Texas she participated in cheerleading and school activities.

She holds several Culinary Arts certificates from LeTourneau University, Wheaton College, Marriott Food Service Corporation and licenses in Food Service from the State of Texas.

She retired in 2015, she missed the love cooking and started working part-time as Food Service Coordinator for First Baptist Church in San Antonio for 5 years.

She was involved in community events, church activities, catering and traveling around the world.

She received a multitude of awards, certificates, recognitions and licenses from all of the world for her extraordinary expertise in cooking and food preparation.

Betty is preceded in death by her mother Dessie Lee Miller, Sister Alma Jean, Brother Raymond Martin and Aunt Delores Patterson.

Betty is survived by her Brother Johnny Martin. Her Children Stacey, Michael, Michelle, Dessie and Sharon. Her grandchildren Kendell, Kendra, Kelion, Domente, Kamiah, Aliyah, David Michael, Bentley and Faith. Great grandchild Kamia. Her Nieces Jacqueline, Joslyn, Aretha and aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives.
