Condolences to the family.
Sis. Bertha Bain was a faithful woman with integrity and a member of the greatest generation who understood the meaning of sacrifice. As a matriarch in her family and at her church – her commitment meant that no failure would occur on her watch. She blessed my life and countless other lives. May she rest in peace and may we order our lives and live in a way that would make her proud. I pray that her sons and grandchildren find strength and comfort in the memories of her well lived life.
Ms. Bertha Thompson Bain, my dear classmate and friend, you are already missed more than anyone can imagine. Our friendship has endured throughout many unpleasant and happy times. We have to be sure that this will be a celebration of a life well lived. As I have said before to all my classmates, I will love you forever and that’s a long, long time.

Mrs Bertha Bain will be missed at American Legion Post 828 … Her quiet demeanor and wonderful personality was joy to many at the Post. We looked out for our “Ms. Bertha” with great care and consideration. Always friendly with a kind, encouraging word and one of the true leaders of the American Legion Auxiliary members at the post. Bertha was the Past 20th District President, the largest such District in the State of Texas. She was respected and revered by many around the District, She is now with the Great Commander still keeping a watchful eye on her beloved American Legion family. She will be missed. Al Alford (Commander, American Legion Post 828/State Historian.
