May 12, 1940 ~ January 31, 2023

On May 12, 1940, in Friars Point, MS, Charlie, and Minnie Taylor were blessed with their second child, Alfred. They later moved to Leland, MS, where he graduated from Breisch High School. After graduation, Alfred relocated to Chicago, IL.

While in Chicago, he was drafted into the military and did a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning to Chicago, he met the love of his life Geneva Howard. On March 14, 1969, they united in holy matrimony and had three children in their union. He rejoined the military and traveled to Missouri, Germany, Korea, and California before settling in San Antonio, Texas, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. After retirement, Alfred became employed in civil service and worked another 20-plus years before he retired again.

Alfred's early Christian foundation started when he was baptized and became a member of Pilgrim Home Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined New Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. JS Smith, where he was ordained as a deacon. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent and an Usher Board member before joining St. Stephens Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Charles M. Biggs. Alfred enjoyed many hobbies, including traveling, playing Bingo, playing pinochle, and, last but not least, bowling. He bowled in several bowling leagues and tournaments.

The Lord called Alfred to his eternal home on January 31, 2023. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Taylor, father Charlie Taylor, mother Minnie Duckworth, stepmother Mammie Taylor, and stepfather Rankin Duckworth.
