Veronica Erica Lamkin, a devoted wife, loving mother and great-grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend, entered eternal rest on October 23, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, devotion, faith, and the importance of family. Though her earthly journey has ended, the memories she created and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Veronica was born on November 26, 1942, in Kingston, Jamaica, into a family of ten. Her Jamaican roots were an important part of who she was, shaping her love for family, her passion for cooking, and the warmth she extended to those around her.

One of the greatest blessings of Veronica’s life was meeting the love of her life, Alvin Lamkin, in Bedford, England. After knowing one another for six years, they were united in marriage and began a remarkable journey together that spanned 48 years. As a devoted military wife, Veronica exemplified loyalty, strength, and unwavering commitment. Wherever her husband was assigned, she was faithfully by his side, embracing each new chapter of their lives together. Their journey took them overseas to Taiwan and Bedford, England, where they spent six years living abroad. Through every move and new assignment, Veronica remained a constant source of love, support, and encouragement to her husband and family.

Veronica was also a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked as a clerk on base and in the cafeteria, earning a reputation for her reliability and commitment. At each new military assignment, she would pick up right where she left off, with employment on base awaiting her. Her strong work ethic and dependable nature reflected the kind of woman she was—someone who took pride in her responsibilities and faithfully carried them out.

Beyond her devotion to her family and work, Veronica had a special love for shopping. Affectionately, one could say she was a professional shopper! She enjoyed shopping so much that she could spend the entire day browsing from the moment the stores opened until they closed. It was one of her favorite pastimes and a part of her personality that brought joy and laughter to those who knew her.

Veronica also expressed her love through the food she prepared. Proud of her Jamaican heritage, she delighted in cooking traditional Jamaican cuisine and sharing her culinary creations with family and friends. Some of her family’s favorite dishes included curry goat, curry oxtails, and egg rolls, among many other delicious treats. Her kitchen was more than a place to prepare meals; it was a place where love was served, family gathered, and lasting memories were made. The flavors of her cooking and the love behind every dish will be treasured by her family for generations to come.

Above all, Veronica possessed a strong faith in God. On March 25, 2018, she was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Wallace Ray Marshall. This meaningful milestone reflected her spiritual journey and her desire to draw closer to the Lord. Her faith was an important part of her life, providing a foundation of hope, strength, and comfort.

Veronica now joins her beloved parents and siblings who preceded her in death. Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing that her love, her legacy, and the precious memories she leaves behind will continue to live on.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Alvin Lamkin; her children, Anthony Robotham, affectionately known as “Tony,” and Wendy Robotham; her cherished grandchildren, Marley, Terrell, Leah, Zoey, and Kevin; and her beloved great-great-granddaughter, Isabella, affectionately known as “Riku.” She also leaves her dear sister, Shirley Kelly; her sisters-in-law, Berta Wilson, Frances Jackson (Gordon), and Mary Holmes (Bruce); along with numerous other beloved relatives, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her presence.

Veronica Erica Lamkin will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her husband, her love for her children and family, her hardworking spirit, her joyful love of shopping, her treasured Jamaican cooking, and her enduring faith. She was a woman who stood beside her husband through every assignment, nurtured her family with love, and created memories that will never fade.

Though she has taken her final journey from this earthly home, her love will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Her family will forever cherish the laughter, the meals, the stories, and the countless moments that made her so special. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a legacy that will endure through the generations.

Rest peacefully, Veronica. Your work on earth is done, but your love will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.
