The time of my departure is at hand, have fought the good fight. I have finished my course; I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me on that day: and not me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Here is my story….

After a short but courageous battle, I departed this earthly life and entered into eternal peace with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 24, 2026. Though my time here may feel far too short to those I love, I leave behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that I hope will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew me.

I am lovingly survived by my son, Kenneth Washington (Sarah); my cherished grandchildren, Kamren, Brana, Maya, and Max, and numerous family members, classmates, and dear friends whose love and friendship enriched my life.

I was preceded in death by my beloved parents, Lillie Mae Marion and Robert Dotray; my brother, Robert “Sonny” Dotray, Jr; grandparents, Leonard and Rosetta Marion; and Robert Washington. While my loved ones mourn my passing, I find comfort in being reunited with those who went before me and resting in the everlasting love and grace of my Savior.

I cherished the simple joys of life and never missed an opportunity to share stories about the people I loved most. Some of my favorite memories were those spent with my beloved brother, Sonny, and my son, Kenneth, who brought me tremendous pride and happiness throughout my life. Whether I was remembering adventures from time in Europe, Army life, family gatherings, childhood adventures, or special moments shared with loved ones, my stories always came from a place of deep love. I also treasured the relationships I shared with dear friends who filled my life with laughter and companionship. I found great joy in listening to music, dancing whenever the moment moved me, and embracing life’s many blessings. I hope the warmth, laughter, and love I shared with others will remain treasured memories in the hearts of all who knew me.

I also took great pride in my work with the Department of Defense, serving as both a Youth Activities Coordinator and a Phone Operator. I was dedicated to supporting military families and firmly believed in the values of service, sacrifice, and patriotism. My experiences with the Army were among my favorite stories to share, and I often spoke proudly about the importance of military service and the meaningful impact it had on my life.

My faith in God was the foundation of my life. As a devoted servant of the Lord and a faithful member of my church, I strived each day to live according to Christian values of love, kindness, and compassion. One of my greatest prayers was that God would continue to watch over and care for my family, especially my beloved son, Kenneth, when He called me home. My faith sustained me through life’s challenges and gave me strength, comfort, and peace.

As I leave this earthly journey behind, I am grateful for the many blessings God placed in my life, the family and friends who walked beside me, and the memories we created together. Though I may no longer be present in body, my love will remain with you always.
