Darroll Eugene Scott, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home in San Antonio, Texas, on July 31, 2026.

Born in San Antonio on April 1, 1958, Darroll grew up in his hometown and graduated from Fox Tech High School. He entered the United States Army in April 1977, proudly serving eight years with assignments in Germany and California. During his military service, he married the love of his life, Sharon “Niecey” Scott, on May 23, 1981. Following his honorable time in the military, he continued his career of faithful public dedication, serving fifteen years with the United States Postal Service before entering a well-deserved retirement.

Throughout his life, Darroll possessed a rare and radiant spirit—a man whose generous heart and bright smile illuminated every room he entered. He lived with an open door and an open heart, ever ready to offer aid, comfort, and unwavering support to anyone in need. A devoted, lifelong enthusiast of the Dallas Cowboys, he embraced life’s simple pleasures, whether testing his luck with the lottery or sharing cherished laughter surrounded by those he held dear. His legacy is one of boundless kindness, laughter, and an enduring joy that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

Darroll was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sharon Scott. He is survived by his beloved mother, his children, grandchildren, siblings, and an extensive lineage of family and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Celebration of life services will be held as follows:

Viewing: Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home.

Homegoing Service: Friday, August 28, 2026, time TBD at St. Philip’s Baptist Church.

Interment: Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.

    The Ferguson/Whitby/Scott family became one big family back in the
    late 70’s & we’ve remained a family today. Darroll is gone but will never be forgotten. Rest In Paradise my brother!
