Joseph Seabrook

Joseph Seabrook, Jr., was born on January 7, 1937, in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Joseph Seabrook, Sr. and Sadie Seabrook. He lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a love for family and friends.

After graduating from high school, Joseph proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. His time in the military reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Joseph began a long and distinguished career at Argyle Country Club, where he worked as a bartender for 35 years. Known for his friendly personality, warm smile, and ability to make everyone feel welcome, he built lasting relationships with coworkers, members, and guests alike. His dedication and professionalism made him a valued member of the Argyle family for more than three decades.

Outside of work, Joseph enjoyed spending his free time doing the things that brought him joy. He loved gambling, whether it was trying his luck at the casino or enjoying a friendly game, and he was an avid sports fan. His greatest sports passion was cheering on his beloved Carolina Panthers, rarely missing an opportunity to watch them play.

Above all else, Joseph cherished his family. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Melanie Seabrook McDermon (Johnny White) and Lisa Seabrook, who were a constant source of pride and love throughout his life. He treasured the time they shared and the memories they created together.

Joseph will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, sense of humor, dedication to his work, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Seabrook, Sr. and Sadie Seabrook; sisters: Agnes S. Mathis and Mildred F. Blake; brothers: Leon Seabrook and Melvin Seabrook.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters, Melanie McDermon (Johnny White) and Lisa Seabrook; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren; siblings: Irvin B. Seabrook (Annabell), Rebecca Brown (Allen), Ruby S. Mims (Bennie), Joyce Dolby (William), Oral Seabrook; along with extended family members, dear friends, former coworkers, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.

Though he will be deeply missed, Joseph’s memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who were blessed to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
