Ada Margaret Thompson-Slaughter, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, entered eternal rest surrounded by the love and memories of her family and friends. She was born on February 3, 1937, in Cameron, Texas, to the late Reuben and Lee Myrtle Thompson.
Ada received her education in Temple, Texas, and proudly graduated from Dunbar High School. She later met the love of her life, Bennie F. Slaughter, and the two were united in holy matrimony on September 12, 1960. Their loving union was blessed with five children: Michael, Phillis, Larry, Bennie, Jr., and Carolyn.
After relocating to San Antonio, Texas, Ada joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in 1965 under the leadership of Rev. John J. Rector, Sr. She faithfully served her church family for many years as a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Usher Board #1, and the Deacon Wives Ministry. Her dedication to her faith and church community was a reflection of the love she carried in her heart.
Those who knew Ada knew her to be a sweet, kind, and loving soul. She was outspoken, strong-willed, generous, and always willing to help others. She found great joy in sewing and cooking, often sharing her talents and love through the meals she prepared and the care she gave to family and friends.
Ada leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband, Bennie F. Slaughter (Ret. SGM); two loving daughters, Phillis Y. Harper (Fred) and Carolyn L. Hall (Carveth); daughter-in-law, Cathy S. Slaughter; three cherished grandchildren, Nadera, Nigel, and Natasha; one nephew, Bobby D. Thompson (Rosie); one great-nephew, Bobby D. Thompson, Jr.; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Reuben and Lee Myrtle Thompson; her brothers, Reuben Thompson, Jr. and Bobby G. Thompson; her sister-in-law, Marine Thompson; and her three sons, Rev. Michael P. Slaughter, Larry Ray Slaughter, and Bennie F. Slaughter, Jr.
Ada’s love, strength, and faithful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Cleophus Littles Jr My Condolences for The Entire Family Rest in Peace.
Love, the Greenwood Family
I am sorry to hear about your dearly beloved, for so many years. Over the years before I moved, Mrs. Slaughter, had me laughing about a couple of things, over at Bella H. Cameron Elementary, from time to time, while I was there, picking up my daughter.
(Jessica) I always considered you and Mr. Slaughter my parents as well.
On behalf of the Sawyer family,
I (LaJuan Sawyer) am sending our deepest
“Hartfelt Condolences”
God Bless Mrs. Slaughter.
LaJuan Sawyer
