Mia Francette Morris

It is surreal to know that Mia Morris has joined the ranks of an ancestor. We are heart-broken that she was taken away at such a young age, from all who knew and loved her. She was such a bright light and gave her time and energy from heart. As part of our #SABIFF team, she was a star volunteer who came to us about 5 years ago, and committed her ideas, resources and more. Her positive attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand where ever we needed her was comforting in the mist of stressful situations. Mia loved-loved-loved her family — daughter and grandchildren, children she counseled at Essence Prep and MLK Academy, #SAACAM, #MLK Commission work and Salsa music & dance. I’m amazed how she balanced it all… but as I breath in, it is obvious that Mia lived her life with joy and grace in the midst of all that she was personally undergoing with her health. We all need a lesson from the book of Mia. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Mt 25:21). Rest in peace sister Mia, rest in paradise. Your memory remains in our hearts!
