A Life Begins

George Edward McAfee was born on September 10, 1951, in El Campo, Texas, to Elroy and Ethel Mae Koontz McAfee. He was raised in El Campo, where he built the foundation of the strong, friendly spirit he would carry throughout his life.  George attended school in El Campo and was known for his athletic ability. He ran track in high school and was recognized as one of the fastest in the area — a true competitor with determination and drive. 

George proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment and willingness to serve. George worked several jobs he worked diligently until becoming disabled. 

George met the love of his life, Beverly. Together they shared many years of love, laughter, and cherished memories. 

George leaves to cherish his memory his children: • Robert White John White (Tandra Haynes) Shayla Brunson (Marlin Brunson) and Kaylan White.  He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren & great grandchild : Johnshenique, Octreavion Omarreion,  Ja`Cora, John Jr,  Mar`Quan, Maurice Jr., Kehmoni and Ja`Kaelyn.

George was preceded in death by: His parents, Elroy and Ethel Mae McAfee; His wife, Beverly McAfee; His grandsons Jaa`Von White and Maurice Brunson; His brothers, Roy Lee McAfee Sr. and Leo McAfee Sr. 

He is survived by his siblings: Ralph McAfee Sr. (Lula) and Lisa Bailey, both of Wharton, Texas.

George was known for his friendly spirit. He loved sitting and talking with family and friends — whether in person or over the phone. His presence brought warmth, conversation, and connection to those around him. His life was one of resilience, love, service, and family devotion. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
