Born in:
St. Louis, Missouri

San Antonio, Texas
Deborah Ann Taylor entered eternal rest on December 23, 2025, at the age of 70. She was born on November 1, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Roosevelt Upchurch and Evelyn Taylor.
Deborah was a loving mother and grandmother who made friends everywhere she went. Known as the life of the party, she brought joy, laughter, and warmth into every room. In 1990, she relocated to San Antonio, Texas, for her career, where she continued to build a meaningful life surrounded by family and friends.
In 1992, Deborah married Donald L. Taylor. They shared a loving union for 28 years until his passing in April 2020. Deborah was a strong and devoted wife and an incredibly supportive mother to her sons. She attended every game and practice, always cheering proudly from the sidelines. To many of her children’s friends, she was a second mother—offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Deborah was a faithful member of Jacob’s Chapel Church, where she held membership since 1993. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and carried her through every season.
She graduated from Normandy High School in 1974, where she was actively involved in student council, served as a cheerleader all four years, and was honored as Homecoming Queen. She later attended Southeast Missouri State University. Professionally, Deborah worked as a financial analyst for over ten years, earning respect for her dedication and strong work ethic.
Deborah was preceded in death by her mother and father, Evelyn and Jesse Nance; her biological father, Roosevelt Upchurch; her husband, Donald L. Taylor; and her sister, Rena Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Rodney Hopkins and Steven Hopkins (Janet); her sisters, Rochelle Foxworth and Pamela Givens; aunt: Mazie Austin, and her precious grandchildren, Michael, Gabriel, David, Christian, and Rene, and numerous other close relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to Robert Smith for his attentive care and compassion shown to our mother during this difficult time of bereavement.
Deobrah Ann Taylor will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1TH 4: 13 – 18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
“Rest in Peace my sweet cousin. The band we shared and the memories we Madrid will live in my heart forever. Love always!”
Sorry for your loss
Deb, I shall never forget those summers I spent in St Louis in the early 70 s hanging out from time to time with you and your friends. I’m grateful you allowed me to tag along with you and Karen and Karliss which broke up a little bit of the monotony and a little of the loneliness from being hundreds of miles from home. You guys were a riot and I have since come to appreciate the value of what you guys shared . Witnessing The fun, the love, and the sisterhood among you all was so sweet. I am glad I was included in those times. Rest well dear cousin..
I have just read this post! She was a dear friend, whom l recently met; and stood by her side, during the Funeral of her late husband; Mr. Donald Taylor. May she rest in eternal peace. As she now joins her husband, in Heaven.
