~Psalms 23~

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Elrethia Triplett, affectionately known as “Ruth,” a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, entered eternal rest on November 23, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1950, to the late Rester Arvie and Carrie Edwards of Opelousas, La.  Elrethia shared a beautiful 25-year marriage with her best friend and confidante, Clem Dee Triplett. The two met in 1984 and later united in marriage on January 17, 1997, building a life filled with love, partnership, and unwavering support.

Elrethia is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Hilbert Arvie, Jeffrey Arvie, Macghafry Arvie, and Lillie Mae Arvie. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Clem Dee Triplett; her children: Marilyn LeDay (San Antonio, Texas), Rose LeDay-Powell (Robert)(Dallas, Texas), and Jamoll LeDay (Tamisha) (San Antonio, Texas); five grandchildren: Jericho LeDay, Mikayla E. Elrethia Triplett’s career spanned from accounting to small business ownership.  For over 15 years she worked as a plant manager at Miller Curtain Company.  Once that chapter in her life ended, Mrs. Triplett explored her creativity and began her own business at Windsor Park Flea Market where she sold bedding and crafts to the community. Mrs. Elrethia, later saw a need in the community for commercial and residential cleaning services where 2 Women Cleaning Services evolved and existed for roughly 13 years.  About 5 years ago, Mrs. Triplett had a vision which provided resources and serviced the domestic violence victim’s population. Her dream was to provide domestic violence awareness to the community and be a resource for those who endured emotional, physical, and verbal abuse. Elrethia’s House of Purpose (EHOP) developed from her passion to serve this population which was near and dear to her heart. Her legacy continues through family, friends, and several committed volunteers.

Mrs. Eltethia Triplett was a faithful and devoted member of Place for Life Church for 15 years. Elrethia lived a life grounded in purpose, compassion, and faith. Elrethia Triplett will be remembered for her strength, her heart for others, and the love she poured into her family and community.
