Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Lloyd D. Jones Sr., a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, entered eternal rest on November 3, 2025, at the age of 65.
He was born on June 21, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Lloyd Jones and Lillian Clayton. A proud Texas native, Lloyd was affectionately known as “Mr. Sports” and “Showtime,” nicknames that reflected his energetic personality and love for sports. He played football in high school and remained a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan throughout his life.
Lloyd graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1979. He later built a long and successful career as a truck driver, dedicating 40 years to the profession before retiring.
He met and married his high school sweetheart, Ernestine Stallion, on April 25, 1982 — just three days after her birthday. Together, they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage and raised two beloved children.
Lloyd enjoyed listening to music, especially the sounds of Wendell B., and he loved to dance, spend time with family, and enjoy life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: LaVerne, Everett, Pamlear, Lonza Mae, and Howard; and his amigo: John Young (“Jr. Boy).
Lloyd leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and supportive wife, Ernestine Jones; his devoted daughter, Courtney Jones (“Daddy’s girl”); his son, Lloyd Jones Jr.; his cherished granddaughter, Ashley; his sisters, Vanessa Fuller (Raymond) and Beatrice Matthews; his amigos: John Thomas “JT” (Danyelle), Alix Scott “Al” (Yvette), as well as many other close relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Always chill, until you weren’t. I still remember that video Courtney posted to Facebook of the cracked TV screen prank she played on you. “Sit yo xxx down”. Then after the subsequent realization…“Go Home!” I had the best chuckle. You were, and will always be light. May you rest/step in paradise. Tany. 💛
My deepest condolences to the family.
