With deep love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Alice Sheppard, who departed this life on July 11, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on July 20, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Candelario Gonzales and Consuelo Sanchez.
A selfless and loving woman, Alice was the heart of her family and a guiding light to all who knew her. Her love extended far beyond words, especially through her incredible cooking—her legendary breakfast tacos were a family favorite and brought everyone together around the table.
With over 15 years of experience as a department store manager, she was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication to customer service. Her professionalism and warmth left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
A devout member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church for many years, she found joy and spiritual fulfillment in serving in the church choir and within the parish community. Her faith was an anchor throughout her life and a source of strength for her family.
Affectionately known as “GMa” by her grandchildren, she poured her love into her family and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her loving children: Charles Sheppard (Yuvonka) and Yvette Bennett (Demetrious); grandchildren: DeShan Hester, Gregory Threat, Eric Threat, Rene Threat, Shamica Sullivan, Krystal Young, and Charles Sheppard III; 14 great-grandchildren; and her beloved sisters: Mary Ann Johnson and Toni Williams.
