MARIE ANNETTE HENDRICKS

May 18, 1957 ~ December 27, 2024

 

Marie Annette Hendricks was the third of five daughters born to the union of Roy and Louise Lewis (both deceased) on May 18 , 1957. She professed her life to Christ at a young age and

was Baptized.

Marie married in 1978 to the late Clarence Miles and out of this union one son she leaves behind LaMarque Miles whom she loved and treasured.

In 2009, she married Rev. Michael Hendricks, Sr. whom she loved dearly. 

Marie had been a long time active member at Friendship Baptist Church where she served in different capacities over the years.

In 2010, her husband encouraged her to go to Theology School with him and in 20212, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from the San to Antonio College. She loved studying God's word. She spoke several times at the college and was asked to speak at church's around the city.

In 2011, she united with her husband Rev. Hendricks, Sr. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under Pastor Robert Forte, Sr. There at Mt. Gilead, she stepped right in, Sunday School

Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher for the Women's Class which was her passion. Choir member f the Senior Choir, Member of the MDW&W. She was Women's Day Speaker in

2013, 2016, 20218 at Mt. Gilead. Whatever she was asked to do, she did. She loved working for the Lord.

Marie was a wife, mother sister, aunt and sister in law. She loved leaving a "Food For Thought" on he Facebook page everyday. She felt that was her ministry of helping someone

who may not know the Lord but more importantly who would come to know the Lord. 

One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 147:11 "The Lord delights in those who fear Him,

who put their hop in His unfailing love."

In July 2020, Marie was diagnosed with Multiple Myleoma. She never complained but kept trying to do all she could while she could.

Marie departed this life for a better life to be with the Lord on: December 27, 2024.

Marie leaves to cherish her memories Husband, Son, Lamarque Miles (Elise), Sisters, Cathy Sullivan, Blanche Byrd, Valerie Lewis, Cherry Meriweather (Otis), Aunt Gladys Lewis and

Aunt Helen Ross along with a host of Nieces, Great Nieces, Nephews, Great Nephews, Cousins, and friends.

Interment following service: January 4, 2025 12:00 am - August 26, 2025 2:30 pm
